2nd Annual Summer Camping Trip

Idaho Navigators just participated in their 2nd annual camping trip.
We chose a different location this year and had different experiences.

Dinner & knot-tying got rained out, but some campers appreciated the much-needed down time and others saw it as a fun challenge.
The rain made fire-starting a challenge too, which created an unexpected opportunity to learn how to split damp wood to find the dry wood inside.  We also had a chance to distill a little bit of water to learn about water purification methods.

We gathered wood, then the Senior Navigators learned to use a bow saw to cut smaller pieces that would fit in our fire pit.

Navigators showed responsibility as they practiced setting up and taking down camp and "leaving no trace."

Of course, we had to do some fishing too!

Our last activity was a beautiful, shady hike.

Finally, lunch just before going home.

Of course, let's not forget all the necessary silliness!
