Edward's Greenhouse

A huge thank you to Gayle at Edward's Greenhouse for taking us on a tour and giving us a lesson in gardening.  We learned so much and had so much fun!

We got to check out the worms in the worm box.

We saw horse radish being planted.

We had a tour of the whole nursery.

In the children's garden we learned about keyhole gardening.

After the tour we made seed rows of carrots to plant at home.
Did you know you can glue seeds to toilet paper?
When you plant them the toilet paper dissolves and your seeds grow into perfect rows of carrots!

We even planted our own spider plants!

First we got dirt.

Then we chose our plant off the larger spider plant. Then we planted them.

The plants were a hit!

Snow Scouting

Our Idaho Navigators  had a great time on our first outdoor adventure!
We learned all about winter in the great outdoors. We learned about snow layers and how animals adapt to survive in the winter.

We had fun exploring.

We played some games and learned a lot.

We learned how to make a fire in the snow and roasted hot dogs for lunch.

Our older scouts got the opportunity to help make an actual snow shelters.

It was a great educational experience and we had a blast!
