First Aiders

Today our Navigators learned more about first aid from our special guest Dr. Josh Durham.

We learned what to do if someone is unconscious.

We practiced checking for pulse and breathing.

We learned that if someone is bleeding badly, we need to make a tourniquet.

We learned how to make them from bandages and everyday items.

We also learned how and when to make a splint.

Our Stargazers group learned about cleaning wounds and how to use band aids.  They properly fixed up many "injuries" our stuffed animals had.

A huge thanks to Dr Durham for such an awesome meeting!

Cardinal Points

A Navigator is:

Truthful
Respectful
Inclusive
Patient
Dependable
Resourceful
Cooperative
These are our Cardinal Points and part of what it means to be a Navigator.
This meeting was filled with fun team building activities to demonstrate our Cardinal Points. With silly relays, races, and fun creative team building games,  we learned all about what it takes to be a Navigator.

And a slightly blurry pic of some of our Navigator crew with the Cardinal Points.
