Walk on the Wild Side and Knots and Knives

Last week our Junior Navigators got a nature tour at Kathryn Albertson Park and our Senior Navigators learned to tie new knots and all about knife safety!

The Juniors had an amazing tour guide from Boise Parks and Rec.  Erica showed us all about the plants and wild life in the park.

Each Navigator was given a cards with animals and plants to locate on our tour.
We learned about many plants in the area and saw some great animals along the way.

We even saw this cross section of a record breaking tree.

Our Senior got a taste of knots and knives.
They learned to tie 2 new knots and how to use knives safely.

Citizenship and Flag Etiquette

Today we took a tour of the Idaho Sate Capital building.

We saw a group trying to break the record for largest M&M mural.

We learned about our state flag.

We got to see where the state house and senate meet.

We learned about our state representatives and state government.
Then we headed across the street to the park to talk about the American Flag.

We learned about flag etiquette and folding.

Today we all earned our citizenship patch.
